KPE Infrastruktura is part of the KPE (Kania Private Equity) Group. One of its main tasks is to support and develop the IT infrastructure for other enterprises within the Group, e.g. Kanlux that delivers lighting products. To effectively compete in the Central and Eastern European markets, the company operates a 24-hour delivery service. For this, they use a warehouse logistics system, based on a tailor-made ERP system and underpinned by an Oracle database.
The Group expands their worldwide presence by targeting new countries and markets. In order to keep high quality levels and ensure continuous delivery even during seasonal peak demand, KPE Infrastruktura decided to optimize their ERP system.
Based on Oracle Poland’s advice, KPE Infrastruktura approached GridwiseTech for help. GridwiseTech is the independent scalability specialist. The company helps growing enterprises to formulate IT strategy and delivers robust IT architectures, capable of handling significant data and processing loads. GridwiseTech takes a holistic approach, evaluating both the business and technical challenges. The final recommendation is focused on solving business needs through technology.
GridwiseTech’s engineers audited the ERP system and recommended available optimization options to meet Kanlux’s and others’ needs, specifying the direct and indirect costs. Together with KPE Infrastruktura, they planned short-term actions to achieve immediate performance increase and defined a long-term strategy for high availability and data security.
After GridwiseTech’s recommendations had been introduced, KPE Group observed significantly improved performance of the ERP system and Oracle database. Reference tests demonstrated a five-fold increase in efficiency, calculated as the number of SQL operations performed per unit of time.
